The Cadillac ELR is a plug-in hybrid luxury car and targets the midsize sedan range. This means that the vehicle is primarily powered by an electric motor and its lithium-ion battery is that are charged by plugging them into an electrical source such as a wall outlet or an EV charger. The Cadillac ELR comes with a 17-kWh lithium-ion battery (the size of the battery) but relatively slower charging speed capacity (3.3 kWh), which determines how fast the vehicle can charge. If you don’t plan on upgrading your EV any time soon, then a level 1 NEMA 5-15 Cadillac ELR charger (regular residential plug) will work well.
