We have seen an increase in demand for BMW X5 EV chargers. Most owners report a typical electric mode only of 14-16 miles before the gas kicks in with a first class ride experience. As with most plug-in hybrid, the car is powered by a smaller battery capacity in the case a 9 kWh battery. As such level 1 or level 2 EV chargers work well with this vehicle. If you don’t plan on upgrading your EV any time soon, then a level 1 NEMA 5-15 BMW x-Drive EV charger (regular residential plug) will work well. If you plan on upgrading your EV in the future, a level 2 NEMA 40 amp 14-50 or NEMA 6-50 TOTALEV charger will charge this car at its fastest charge rate and will also provide a much faster charger for your next plug-in or pure electric vehicle
